This concert from the University of South Carolina School of Music in Columbia features the USC Symphony Orchestra under the direction of Donald Portnoy. The program begins with the overture to Beethoven’s only ballet, and then features one of the epic tone poems of Richard Strauss. The orchestra is also joined by pianist Marina Lomazov for Grieg’s ever-popular concerto and an encore by Scriabin.
